Overview

This 4 Day Uganda Gorillas & Golden Monkey Tracking Tour will take you on a tour of ‘gold and silver’ in one trip to Uganda. Take an African countryside 9 hour drive in one of the most beautiful places on the continent dubbed the “Switzerland of Africa”, rolling hills and valleys showing off picturesque landscaped like in an enchanting dream.

Your 9 hours drive in the west will lead you into the mountain gorilla jungle, Bwindi Impenetrable Forest, where you’ll track the elusive creatures and spend an hour in their presence. Then head over into Mgahinga trails to track the golden monkey, another endangered primate, and then exit in Kigali Rwanda’s capital.

ITINERARY

Arrival

After arrival at Entebbe Airport and visa processed, your designated 4 Day Uganda Gorillas & Golden Monkey Tracking guide and driver will pick you and transfer you to your booked lodge in Entebbe or Kampala. Accommodation on arrival can be arranged at a cost.

Day 1:Transfer to Bwindi Impenetrable National Park

With an early morning, you will embark on your Uganda Gorillas & Golden Monkey Tracking Tour, heading south-West to Bwindi Impenetrable National Park. You will stop over at the Equator for some photo shoots and Mbarara where you will take your lunch and visit the Igongo cultural center.

After lunch you will go for a museum tour where you will get an insight into cultures of people in western Uganda then proceed to Bwindi impenetrable forest as you relax the rest of the evening preparing for a thrilling experience of Mountain Gorilla Tracking the following day.

Day 2: Gorilla tracking

With an early breakfast and a packed lunch, head out for the Gorilla Safari and Golden Monkey Trekking at the park headquarters in Nkuringo for a briefing just before you head to the jungle to encounter the gentle giants: the rare mountain gorilla. For most people this is the absolute highlight of their Uganda Gorillas & Golden Monkey Tracking safari.

Tracking is a captivation and unforgettable experience which more than repays the efforts needed to reach Bwindi or Mgahinga and to trek through the forest. Gorilla tracking can be challenging and needs one to be reasonable fit before undertaking to venture into the activity.

Once the gorillas are located, you will spend one whole hour with them and then later return to the starting point for pick up.

Day 3: Golden monkey tracking

After breakfast, you will drive to Mgahinga national park for the golden monkey tracking. This Uganda Gorillas & Golden Monkey Tracking Safari provides a rare chance to track these unique monkeys in the dense bamboo forests on the Gahinga trail.

Day 4: Transfer to Kigali international Airport

After breakfast, your Uganda Gorillas & Golden Monkey Tracking safari driver will take you across the border into Rwanda, and drive upto Kigali city. This is a shorter 4 hour route compared to heading back to Entebbe for 9 hours. You’ll catch your flight back home at Kigali International airport.

End of Tour

The Uganda Gorillas & Golden Monkey Tracking ends here. Any accommodation aneeded after end of trip will cost you an extra amount.
